DALI-2: Stricter requirements and improved compatibilityThe introduction of DALI-2 has marked a significant step forward in the standardization of DALI products. Due to stricter requirements, all products must be registered within the DALI platform. This offers a major benefit for installers and end-users: products bearing the DALI-2 logo are guaranteed to be compatible with one another. Additionally, DALI-2 products are downwards compatible, meaning they can be used seamlessly in older installations with a previous DALI protocol.

The future: Wireless solutions with DALI+
At the 2024 Light + Building exhibition, DALI+ was introduced, taking DALI technology to a wireless level. This new protocol, based on Thread technology, enables the wireless control of DALI systems. One of the key advantages is that DALI can now be used in locations where additional wiring is not feasible, providing even more flexibility in the installation and use of smart lighting solutions.
